IN PURSUIT OF BEING
I’ve been a seeker most of my life. I have this innate desire to achieve — in my youth the pursuit of A-pluses and being ‘good,’ in my twenties, the pursuit to grow. To most, the phrase "in pursuit” brings imagery of chasing something… usually fame… perhaps wealth. I’d like to take this phrase back, and bring some irony to it — as I am in pursuit of being.
For me, the ‘pursuit of being’ doesn’t come easy — for me, this feels like a chase sometimes. I find this idea silly, laughable, and ironic that I desire so greatly to ‘just be.’ As you may know, it’s the surrender (& not the pursuit) that lets in all the good stuff. IN PURSUIT is where we steadily feed into our paradoxical selves, and pursue the ironic pursuit of being.
